Nothing about the judge changed between the two columns: same model, same candidate, same question. Only the order of two events changed, and the false-positive rate moved from 0.719 to 0.012, a sixty-fold difference, measured in arXiv 2607.05904. Committing first removes the one channel a candidate answer has to influence the judge before the judge has said anything of its own: convincing prose, confident tone, the shape of a good answer. A judge with a written position already on record has nothing left to be swayed by.
